Ophir Bridge Central Otago Pinot Noir 2023 (12x750ml)
PINOT DEAL OF THE CENTURY | CANCELLED EXPORT ORDER
SAVE $204 PER CASE | SAVE $17 PER BOTTLE
Produced by McArthur's Ridge as the pinot they want representing themselves on the international market, and backed by five star reviews and a score of 94/100 - this is the most compelling pinot deal we’ve ever seen.
A cancelled export order has delivered this extraordinary parcel of quality Central Otago Pinot Noir at a price point we have never before seen - let alone for FIVE STAR Pinot from such a lauded Central Otago producer. From a value for money perspective, we fervently believe that this deal completely redefines the standard for Central Otago Pinot. You will not believe the quality on offer here for this price. We will stake our reputation on that.
2023 was a very good vintage in Central and this release is showing all the benefits of that strong growing season. Soft, warm and generously fruited, it opens with waves of dark cherry and ripe plum, threaded with gentle spice and subtle savoury complexity. The palate is silky and flowing, with beautifully integrated tannins and a plush, comforting texture that makes it impossible not to go back for another glass. Expect it to evolve beautifully over the next 5+ years should you choose to cellar some for future enjoyment.
Tasting note
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit: "Rich and enticing, the inviting bouquet shows dark plum, raspberry, floral, almond and warm spice aromas. The palate is equally appealing with excellent weight and ripe fruit intensity, wonderfully framed by silky texture and polished tannins."
The winery writes: "This wine exhibits a red/purple colour with a crimson hue. The nose reveals cherry and summer berries. A hint of leather with integrated oak and sweet vanillin adds depth and complexity that entices you to savour this wine. The palate
shows a delicate elegance of black cherries and red berry fruit. The tannins are supple and well-integrated, adding length and supporting the palate. The wine is instantly attractive and gratifying and complements a wide range of foods including, cheese, pasta, grilled and roasted meats, and vegetables."
