This is the Real McCoy - a top-drawer Hawke's Bay Cabernets Merlot that delivers complexity and generosity worlds beyond this humble price point. No expense was spared in the vineyards or winery to create this wine. As a late ripening varietal cabernet sauvignon performed especially well in 2023 and forms the mainstay of this robust blend, while cabernet franc adds rounded mouthfeel and soft mocha characters. Merlot brings layers of dark plum and supple palate flow, while gentle tannins and touches of oak spice close out the conversation.
It's juicy, rounded and bright. It's instantly rewarding. And it will continue to blossom in your cellar over the coming 4+ years, should you choose to lay some down.
