GlenDronach's 18 year old expression is named after the founder of the distillery, James Allardice. This superb sherried single-malt is exclusively matured in Oloroso sherry casks, many of which are considerably older than 18 years old. This is a very big whisky, packed full of juicy, sappy fruit flavours and earthy, chocolaty notes.
Tasting Notes
Incredible sherry notes on the nose. There's hints of old rum in there too, with pineapple and brown sugar in tow. On the palate we get Christmas cake, rum again, chocolate-coated hazelnut, and runny honey. Finish has notes of blackcurrant, blueberry pancakes with a generous helping of maple syrup.
